Each gourd lamp is made to order and a perfect gourd lamp is made from Mediterranean calabash by planting the seed of the calabash and let them grow for about 6 months.After its collected and dried,sandpaper is used to remove the outer skin and the interior vegetable section is removed.
The gourd lamp has many dimensions to its quality and one of them is the gourd itself. The thicker the gourd, the better the artwork and durability.
Because each gourd is unique by creation and unlike each other, it is impossible to make an exact replica, but the same dimensions and design can be used.After the design stage and depending on the pattern,different sizes of drills and knives are used to make holes and shapes on the gourd. Once the design is complete it is painted,beads are mounted into the holes and varnished.
